Moodbidri (Thousand Pillar Temple)

Known as the "Jain Kashi" of the South, renowned for its granite pillared architecture and preservation of the ancient Dhavala palm-leaf manuscripts. Built by Devaraya Wodeyar with funding from merchant guilds and the local Jain ruler. It stands as a three-story granite basadi of monumental proportions. The temple contains a library preserving the original 9th-century palm-leaf manuscripts of the Shatkhandagama and Dhavala commentaries.
