The ancient holy mountain where Bhagwan Neminatha renounced royal wedding feasts for universal compassion and attained Moksha. When the wedding procession of Prince Neminatha heard the wailing cries of caged animals destined for the feast, he was struck with profound compassion, cancelled the marriage, distributed his wealth, and climbed the rocky crags of Mount Raivataka (Girnar) to take initiation into ascetic life.
